Absolutely wonderful place

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Our kids aged 3 and 8 just loved it in Jungle Hut especially seeing the deer and the giant squirrels at a very close proximity. Food was very good and tasty. Loved the pool (clean with a fantastic view). We stayed in the premium room and it was quite spacious for a couple with 2 kids. A totally relaxing trip away from the buzzing city life.Just loved it here.

Pleasantly Surprised

We were pleasantly surprised about this beautiful property nestled in nature. It's a hot summer... much gratitude for accommodating no chili, onion, garlic meal options and simple clean pool to swim and cool off. Screens on windows were great so we slept with fan only (AC off) and woke up to an orchestra of nature sounds... perfect ambiance for yoga / meditation! Loved our 2.5 hours Safari! Lots of healthy robust wildlife in a lush dense jungle. We appreciated that our ride back to Isha Yoga Centre was organized with a very good driver. Jungle Hut team provided wonderful service all round! We highly recommend them whether its a honeymoon trip, family trip or yoga retreat, they seem to know how to cater to all demographics.

A calm & serene place in the midst of a jungle!

We recently stayed for 2 nights at Jungle Hut near Masinagudi. It was an awesome experience. We stayed at their Deluxe tented accommodation - a room large enough to accommodate 4 of us (including my sons aged 15 & 12) Despite the large double bed and 2 single beds there was ample space for us to roam around in the room. The room otherwise is well appointed with all necessary amenities including an AC. We had a verandah to ourselves that overlooked the lush greenery of the jungle. As we were just on the outskirts of the Madumalai National Park, a herd of spotted deer used to be normally found on the property enjoying the fresh grass! The resort charges includes breakfast which is quite wide spread. We opted to have all meals there itself as we were in the middle of nowhere. Their meal spread had a few South Indian delicacies - both Veg. & non veg. The entire preparation was fresh & served piping hot. Their staff was extremely warm, friendly & courteous. They were always there to assist you & tidy up your room on a daily basis. The property has a small swimming pool which is fun. They also have a table tennis table & Carrom board. There's a common TV room as there's no TV in your rooms - a complete bliss! They offer guide services for walks in the nearby areas. The Jungle Safari however is controlled by the Sanctuary people as Private operators are not allowed to take their own safaris. A truly relaxing & rejuvenating experience.

Great place to be with Nature

We, a group of 10 people, stayed here for two nights. The location is one of the highlight of the place. You can see yourself right at the foot hills of Nilgiris with lush green forest. We stayed in 4 Classic Rooms and they were quite comfortable. All the basic amenities were there. Food is slightly on the expensive side. The options are limited but preparation was good and hygiene was not an issue at all. We enjoyed the pool for two days (especially our kids) and recreational area also had enough activities to keep us occupied during the stay. We could see lot of animals in the resort itself, like Deers, Mongose, Monkeys, peacock etc. We head from the staff that couple of night ago, Elephants also crossed the resort. We arranged for a bird watching session in the morning of one day and it was quite enjoyable. Couple of things that we would like to suggest though. Dinner timing starts from 8:30 and it was little late for few of the elders with us. Swimming pool water could be maintained a little better as it had lot of chlorine to keep it hygienic. I forgot to mention the bonfire that was arranged by the staff on one of the nights. It was a real good experience, sitting in the open, under cloudless skies, under the backdrop of Mountains with thousands of stars (we hardly see in bangalore now a days). So overall a really good experience and recommended for anyone looking to disconnect from the daily hectic life and relax amidst the nature.

Just WOW!

I am totally in love with this place - the resort, location, surrounding, people, food - EVERYTHING is superb! The resort is located in a jungle just at the foothills of Nilgiris and there are spotted deer roaming around, langoors in the resort and on our last day of stay, we were informed by the manager that there's a tusker in the parking! We rushed to see the elephant and indeed it was there looking for food! - Room: We booked the deluxe tent and it was a very nice, spacious room with enough space for 3 people. The room had all basic amenities but in my view, the lighting was a bit less and it would be good if the rooms could be more lit. They have provided towels, pool towels, basic toiletries, hair dryer etc. Ample seating space just outside the room. There were rabbits in our backyard and deer in the front! - Staff & Service: Since we were out most of the time - once due to safari and once for trekking, our rooms were not cleaned but they ensured to leave fresh towels and drinking water outside the room which was quite thoughtful. The staff is amazing - the manager was quite friendly, he explained the "rules" of the place once we checked in and also helped us in booking a safari. He used to keep checking on our stay and also was our point of contact for any help (I am unable to recall his name!) - Food: They have buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Though the spread was limited but the taste was great. So no complaints. - Activities: We went to 2 safaris - 1 in Bandipur and another in Mudumalai. The resort people help with JLR Bandipur safari and for Mudumalai safari, there's no option to pre-book and hence you need to go there and book. The resort arranged for a trek and bird watching which was again a great experience - the guy took us to a small hill nearby which had a Murugan temple at the top and the views from above were beautiful. While on the way, we spotted multiple birds and also saw an elephant and bison on another mountain. We also enjoyed the swimming pool inside the resort. Overall a wonderful stay in the lap of nature and I would surely recommend it to my friends and family.

Your extended home in the forest !!!

Ooty is quite close to this place. But who wants to visit Ooty when you have Jungle Hut in Masinagudi. As one guest pointed out, it is the last one standing on its own. And it stands tall, very tall.

This is my 4th visit in the last 6 years. And every time we come back rejuvenated.

Vikram and Anushri are perfect hosts. They treat every guest as part of their extended family. And take special care of your requests. I remember having the amazing Mutton Biryani several years back. Placed a request for this time around and it was prepared over the Easter weekend. Jungle Hut is one of the most family-friendly resorts among the many spread around Bandipur and Mudumalai.

The kids have a "great" time without any gadgets to disturb them. With a bunch of kids running around and keeping themselves busy, the parents get a much deserved break.

Food is superb, staff is extremely friendly, animals are like pets wandering around the property (some have made it their permanent abode) and you revisit your lazy self.

Travel for this :)

Great combination of staff and facilities

My family of my wife, 4-year old daughter, elderly mom and I landed at Jungle Hut with no place to stay after a booking made at another hotel in the area turned to be a damp squib (booking taken by a website after the property was closed).

The folks at Jungle Hut made us feel welcome and comfortable, made sure we had our lunch before doing any business. From this moment to the last minute of our stay, we were taken good care of by the staff led by Jibran and his team. Food at breakfast, lunch and dinner is a simple buffet, but very well thought out dishes. Food was tasty and felt satisfying.

We chose to stay in a premium tent room. The room was well appointed with all necessary amenities taken care of. Comfortable bedding, hygienic, clean restrooms and hot water can be taken for granted here. They also have a good kid’s play area that can keep little ones happy (recommendation from my 4 year - ask uncle to put a slide).

The property also sells home made jams and pickles that are really yummy. They also some souvenirs that are good.

Overall, a place I would come back to stay, and recommend others to stay if they are in the Mansinagudi/Mudumalai area.

Beautiful place to relax and enjoy the nature

We were a group of 7 families and we stayed at Jungle Hut for 3 nights last week. The experience of waking up to the birds chirping and spotted deers greeting us right outside our room was very delightful. Early mornings and evenings were so pleasant and we could take a stroll inside the property and enjoy the fresh air. We even got the chance to see sloth bears, wild boars and wild elephant in the property. The surroundings are relatively safe for the kids to explore on their own during the day time.

After sunset the security guards are always available if we want them to escort us to the cottages.

The place is very beautiful and Jacaranda tree and other trees with colourful flowers adds to the beauty of the place. There is also a nice big pool to take a dip in the heat of the day.

All the service staff, specially Shruti and Jimbran were very warm & inviting upon our arrival which made us feel immediately relaxed. Even prior to arrival at the resort, Shruti was in contact with us and guided us on any questions we asked. Jimbran was very patient in dealing with our kids, he played with them, told stories and arranged camp fire for their entertainment. The security guards really do a good job guarding the property 24x7 from any wild animals entering and creating havoc in the property.

Vikram and Anushri owns the place and they put in every effort to make the guests feel comfortable. The food served in Jungle Hut is very homely & delicious. The Buffet options are personally looked after by Anushri & that reflects in both quality and variety. Both veg & non-veg options are equally good. Housekeeping staff really does a good job. The rooms, beds, bathrooms and common areas are kept really neat and clean.

Jungle Hut also has a naturist who arranges bird watching treks, wild safari in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and other tours. We were a bit disappointed not to spot a tiger or a leopard but the climate was responsible for this. It was quite hot and the water holes were mostly dried up. We visited the elephant camp and could view the elephants being fed and kids really enjoyed it.

Jungle Hut really made our holiday a special one and did full justice to our expectations. Strongly recommend the place for a family trip and would really love to return.

Amazing !!

Jungle Hut is a piece of paradise on earth, with all the animals (birds, monkeys, deers, mangooses,...) and the peaceful and beautiful place created by the owners with a human and ecological perspective. If you can, take a "Premium Room", it is worth it (n°6, with view to the pond was the best for me).

The whole team, driven by the excellent manager Shiva, has been very caring for me at every moment. It has been a real pleasure to share the wisdom of the wonderful head chief, to be driven by Paul and to be very well counseled for the tours.

If you also love birds, don't miss the "Bird walk" in the morning. It is beautiful.

The tour with jeep at the Karnataka's reserve was excellent. The tiger showed up the day before and after... but there are a lot of other animals to see, and the place is beautiful. However, be careful if you have a pain back : it is very bumpy during 2h !!

Jungle Hut is from far my best memory of my first trip in South India. Don't miss it if you love beauty, peacefulness, authenticity and kindness.

A truly 'Wild' experience of comfort!

The Jungle Hut, situated in Masinagudi at the heart of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, is one of the most incredible jungle experiences I have had the pleasure of being a part of. I could attribute it to a number of reasons such as -

1) Their location (situated just at the periphery of the jungle with a breath-taking large, green hill stealing your gaze the minute you open your room door),

2) Their surroundings (a plastic-free and clean environment if you are not counting the numerous trees, plants, and grass which serve as an excellent buffet for the scores of spotted deers wandering through the property daily),

3) Their food (an amazing spread of buffet items for all three meals consisting of incredible vegetarian and non-vegetarian items which leave a memorable, lingering after-taste on your tongues till your next meal there), etc.

I could go on listing the things that make this place amazing, but if I had to pick the best out of them all, it would be their hospitality experience. The gracious hosts, the almost-superhuman wildlife guide, and the ever-present staff who are always there to help you out, ensure that your stay here goes from brilliant to simply spectacular!

Good location, Awesome food & Excellent service - a memorable stay

I stayed at Jungle hut for 3 nights (Aug 2 - 5) with family. The experience was fantastic right from the time I interacted with Nikhil over the phone for cab pickup from Ooty. Even before we checked in I was impressed by their attention to detail by enquiring about our food preferences, food allergies etc.

The location is really amazing with staying inside a jungle feel unlike some others where it is limited to the name. The room we booked was premium one which had ample space for three people, even the extra bed was real comfortable. Bathroom was clean and elegant. Electric kettle was provided for Tea/coffee and was refilled on a daily basis. A big thanks to the housekeeping staff for cleaning the room daily. Really good view from any room on the property. No intercom or tv is provided in the room which we liked as it gave us complete silence and allowed us to enjoy the natural sounds of the forest.

We had opted for all three meals from the resort. The buffet provided for all the three times were very tasty. One of the highlight was that none of the dishes were repeated. The dessert served during lunch and dinner deserves a special mention. A special thanks to the chef for putting out such variety of tasty dishes every time.

As for the other amenities they have a good swimming pool with a great view of hill, a good collection of books to read, badminton and table tennis etc.

The highlight of our stay was the amount of animals (deer's, langurs, wild pigs, wild dogs, giant Malabar squirrel, mongoose, lots of birds) we were able to see sitting right in front of our cottage, infact it was more than what we saw in mudumalai jeep safari.

A special thanks to Aniket, Nikhil and their entire team for making our stay a memorable one.

Perfect definition of "closer to nature"

The stay, the hospitality, the food, the views, whatnot - Jungle Hut is a must-visit. My wife and I booked a night here - we only wished we could stay longer. Surrounded by lush greenery, small ponds, and sounds of birds and wildlife, this place turned out to be super special to us. We had the most pleasant and relaxing stay here, and we found ourselves unwinding into nature, every second we spent here.

We got to see wildlife right on the premises of our accommodation - directly from the room. Local deer, a whole lotta birds, a few wild boars,.. the list goes on.

Food was very good too - with a good spread of varieties.

Special mentions to Aniket - who was constantly in touch with us throughout the trip, right from guiding us on our way to the location and during the stay. The hospitality was exceptional. We felt at home.

We are 100% sure to visit again, and this time, with our parents as well.

An unforgettable stay in the jungle!

Tucked away cosily in the hilly jungles of Masinagudi, which are rich in biodiversity, is a place special to our hearts. Making one feel like being at home in a tiger reserve is a feat easy in no way and yet manifested into reality by the lovely team at this resort. Spotting herds of deer, giant malabar squirrels, gray langurs, an elephant, and a wide variety of birds within the premises of the property was a therapeutic experience in itself. The swimming pool is aptly located to give one the best views of the forest and the hills surrounding it when inside it. The food at the restaurant has a set menu for each meal of the day, which has been carefully curated over years of experience, cooked well and subjected to quality checks for every batch to give one a sense of the culinary perfection that they strive to achieve each day - almost like it’s a metaphor for the kind of hospitality that they try to extend to their guests.

I’d use the word wholesome to describe our stay at the Jungle Hut. The expanse of the property gives each guest the space to sink in the various shades of green that unfold throughout the day and at the onset of dusk, it is submerged by the sounds of all sorts of living beings, softly carried by the winds. It’s definitely a place for whoever is in search for an escape to reconnect with nature at it’s best. In a life where memories are ones greatest possessions, ones stay here is definitely bound to enrich them with ripples of aesthetic experience intertwined with mnemonic devices to help them keep this place always safely plastered in their walls of memory.

Best value for money in this area!

This was our second trip to Jungle Hut. Beautifully maintained rooms with practical, sustainable design. My Grandmother (almost 90yrs) could get around with a walker/cane and negotiate steps with help. She was so happy to just sit outside and watch the monkeys and their antics. If you have your own car/taxi, it is a convenient distance from the major safari points. JH also organises Safari outings and these were worth it for us as we observed a lot of birds. No big cats while we were there but that is dependent on luck. The nature walks are fascinating as well and actually started us on our birding journey, a few years ago. A wonderful stay amidst Nature!

We enjoyed our stay at Jungle Hut, Masinagudi in Feb'22 this year. It's a place to escape the urban city life and truly be in the lap of nature with nothing to do but admire it's beauty and marvel in its creations! Right from the online booking which was well taken care of by Shruti and Priyanka, we were charmed.

The place is about 6 hours drive from Bangalore via Mysore at the foothills of Ooty. They have 3 types of rooms to choose from and all your meals are included in the tariff. The rooms and the buffet food is definitely the highlight! If you are a foodie, there's variety to chose from - be it plant based or meat based and the meat lovers shouldn't miss the mutton lalmaas or the chicken curries they serve for lunch/dinner :)

There's a lot of detailing, thought and care gone into choosing the right stuff by the owners and you can see this in the bamboo hooks in the baths (or) providing a child washbasin in the dining area.

In terms of facilities/activities, you can laze around in a hammock with a book, go for a walk/trek to the nearest hill, go for the Bandipur tiger reserve safari, gather around the bonfire, play volleyball/badminton/some indoor board games (or) just laze around in the cottages with the spotted deers and wild boars around. There's also a lounge area with a library attached where you could indulge in some good reading with the fiction/non fiction range they have. There's also a swimming pool (which was closed with Covid on) but am sure will be opened post the pandemic recedes. And oh yes! Good reliable Wi-Fi as well since we all are addicted to the love of our lives - our phones!

All in all, a lovely stay and thanks to Jungle Hut staff for the hospitality extended and making our stay comfortable. Will visit again sometime ahead for sure!

Memories of magic formed in the lap of nature !!

The only thing I didn't like about jungle Hut was the fact that we had to leave...

What a memorable experience... And where do i start.

Location : situated on the base of an imposing mountain range , jungle Hut boasts of a impressive panorama that you just cannot get bored of. The campus itself is situated in the middle of a thicketed woods where you'll view deer serenely grazing from your balcony. For excitement, theres also been nightly visits from elephants !!

Comfort : our rooms were very very spacious, comfortable and also provided an unique isolated location which made you feel like you were in the middle of the woods but safe at the same time. 24/7 running water, heated water AC and Wifi is available as well.

Food : the food was very delicious and of a varied menu designed to please all.. best part was the unique dishes made from locally sourced ingredients like banana leaf poriyal, mango curry etc... The taste was also very delicious and you had different cuisines like South Indian and north indian. There is also an option to order dishes that the staff will try their best to arrange if possible.

Which brings me to the best part of jungle Hut... THE TEAM OF DEDICATED FRIENDLY COURTEOUS STAFF who try to help make you comfortable every step of the way .. ! I personally enjoyed our long chats with Vivek and priyanka, the managers on site..,(thanks guys !! Well never forget you !!)

Akshay, Santosh, Rajesh ,"Dada", Nirmal , huge shoutout to them as well.

Activities : there's a ton of stuff to do here mainly centred around the mudumalai reserve and the bandipur tiger reserve .. elephant feeding at mudumalai elephant camp, tiger safari at bandipur, nature walks and on road safari at jungle Hut itself , u can get a oil massage in your room on the porch ...

All in all, is like to summarise by saying our stay at jungle Hut was like a peaceful heaven in the lap of nature and our sincere thanks to Jungle Hut for one of the best vacations I've ever had... (And I've done a few around the world...)

Great location to go on safari if you can pull yourself away from the tranquility and wildlife of the Jungle Hut.

The kids loved the outdoor spaces and exploring the nature.

Everyday there are deer, monkeys and wild boar roaming freely. Then on the last night I was treated with the most amazing experience of seeing elephants and bears outside our room.

Comfortable and Refreshing!

We loved everything about Jungle Hut. We stayed in the Premium rooms, which were nicely decorated, comfortable, and very clean (the bathrooms were fantastic). The food was deliciously mild--there was always a selection of South/North Indian and Western options. All the staff were incredibly friendly, polite and diligent with COVID protocols (the dining hall is all open-air and the staff always wore their masks). It was quiet during this dry season, with only a few families during the weekdays that we were there. This place is great for kids, lots of badminton to be played--and great for adults too, with a lovely lounge to have cocktails in the evening and play Carrom. If you stay near Ber trees, we recommend getting an escort with the watchman at night--2 sloth bears were on the roof of our room when we came back after dinner! Speaking of which: the wildlife was awesome! In addition to the bears, we also saw an elephant outside our room (in the middle of the night), wild boars, chital, langurs and monkeys. We also enjoyed the bird tour with Joel, who was very knowledgeable. My only gripe is that sadly the pool remains closed due to first-wave COVID restrictions, hopefully, that gets lifted by the summer!

Wonderful holiday in a forest setting

We were looking to have a relaxed holiday in a peaceful, nature setting after being confined for a long time to urban areas due to COVID. Jungle Hut met our requirements in full measure and left us delighted in more ways than we anticipated.

Jungle Hut is located in a forest area. The tastefully designed and decorated rooms are interspersed among trees, ponds, etc. with rolling hills as a backdrop. From our verandah we could look out on the jungle and enjoy a cup of tea, read or just relax. During our stay we had several animals like spotted deers, grey langurs and wild boars roam the property regularly. The environment was so very serene and beautiful. We felt entirely at one with nature.

The hospitality of the people in the property was outstanding. From the warm welcome by Vivek on arrival at the property to the engaging chats with Vivek, Priyanka and Pooja, and the helpfulness of Shruti, we felt as if we were with family. During our stay we also celebrated a birthday and a wedding anniversary. The hosts graciously organised the events and joined us in celebrating the occasions, making them all the more memorable! A word of appreciation also for Akshay who provided excellent service for the celebrations.

The food with its accent on coastal cuisine of Kerala and Mangalore was a delightful change from our regular fare. It was diverse, wholesome and enjoyable. Having our meals and tea/coffee in the open dining room with a view of the jungle and hills was an added bonus!

The property also has a naturalist, Rajesh, who is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. The bird watching tour with him was very interesting and educative. He enabled a very good viewing of several birds with his excellent tripod mounted binoculars. It was possible to see the birds very clearly. He also explained the various sounds in the forest and their significance. Recommend this bird watching tour highly.

The broad smiles on the faces of my family members said it all. The visit and stay was thoroughly enjoyable and rejuvenating. We will definitely visit again!

Delightful customer service coupled with a humane approach

We were two families (6 adults and 2 kids) eight in all and were scheduled for just a night's stay (4th-5th Nov 2021) at Jungle Hut since we had spent few days at another resort in the Nilgiris. Unfortunately 5 of us (including one kid) were down with diarrhoea and vomiting (possibly some infection/food poisoning we picked up at the previous resort) immediately after we checked in at Jungle Hut. Our condition went from bad to worse as the day wore on and by evening we had to be ferried to the nearest health centre by the Jungle Hut team. After spending a very strenuous night we again had to pay a visit to the health centre in the morning since more people fell ill. I would like to specially appreciate Vivek and his team for going the extra mile to help us out of this situation. They took great care of our diet requirements, ferried us to the nearest health centre- twice- once in the night and once at early morning since our situation was getting from bad to worse and they managed all this with a resort fully packed to capacity and swarming with guests. Unfortunately, it happened to be my wife's birthday (the day we checked in) and I had requested Shruti (who is part of the Jungle Hut team) to help us out with a b'day cake. They went out of the way to bake it for us at Jungle hut itself however we were not in a position to enjoy it due to our health situation. And to top it all they did not charge anything extra either for the hospital visits or for the cake despite our insisting that they charge us for the expenses incurred (which was only fair) but they absolutely declined to do so stating that since we hardly ate the cake and were in a difficult situation they would waive the charges. We were really touched by such a genuine gesture from the team.

We were overwhelmed by the humane approach and the sensitivity that the team showed in such a delicate situation. I have lived abroad for close to 15 years and have travelled approximately to 40 countries, I would like to rate this experience head to head with some awesome experiences that I have had in the past. We will surely be back to Jungle Hut whenever time permits and make a memorable visit of it the next time around.

I take this opportunity to wholeheartedly thank Vivek, Shruti, Priyanka, Rajesh and the entire team including the support staff at Jungle Hut who pitched in to help us out of a difficult situation which could have gone awry without their support.

I would like to rate them 20 on 10 :)

Property is well maintained at the same time it has wild untouched beauty, surrounded by hills , and have streams,Lilly ponds etc. When we went swimming pool was closed; no TV in the rooms, which is added bonus with a kid, totally engrossed in other activities without any screen time.We went for bird watching saw wild boars, variety of birds, we didn't go for safari, still we saw tuskers elephants while returning. Yes, deers come into the resorts any time of the day, fearlessly grazing around like its their normal routine, lots of birds to spot, monkeys etc. Breakfast spread can be improved a bit, else food served was healthy , kid friendly, tasty, no unnecessary add-ons, just perfect.

Four seasons in three days best Forest Stay

It was an invigorating break at Jungle Hut. (Can’t resist recalling the moments) Looks like an Ashram but a resort par excellent! Large rooms and bath makes one feel at home as soon as arrival. Look around calmly, the beauty of the forest and the majesty of the mountain takes over. One will easily experience the security, luxury and comfort of a Mother’s lap; in all its hues if he or she can let go. The presence of the magnificent mountain is overwhelming when you face it or otherwise. If you are fortunate enough and want to sit and stare at it you will notice the ever changing scenario and can actually experience ‘Navarasas’ of emotion.

Anushree (Co-Owner) is an amazing host, when the birds go silent she makes up with her chirping, extraordinary enthusiasm and energy. Vivek and Priyanka are always around to help like a trusted friend! Cheerful Shruthi works efficiently in the background, Biswajit belongs to the Master Chef class.

My wife and I will cherish every moment spent there for the rest of our life and hope to return often.

Rajesh the home grown trek guide is very keen to make you a nature lover. Taking him with us to the hill climb (impossible without Rajesh) and the safari at Madhumalai turned out to be very educative.

Good Family Destination

We had a great time at jungle hut. The rooms are nice and clean. Food is decent and Homely. The most amazing thing is the location. You are almost in the jungle itself. Deer, monkeys, Langurs can be seen all day roaming freely. Vivek and priyanka are very welcoming and helpful. Well managed property. All requests were taken care of which included arranging a safari It was a 3 days stay and every moment was worth it. Every room has a varanda which either overlooks the beautiful garden or the woods. The location is mesmerizing, with greenery, ponds and woods all around. One gets up with the beautiful spotted dears grazing in front of you.

The resort is beautifully maintained. You get the feel of the forest while residing in the resort.

Experiencing wonderful nature in comfort

All words that I can think of about Jungle Hut are superlatives - excellent, wonderful, awesome! My friends and I had an amazing 3-night stay here. The owners, Anushri and Vikram, the managers (Priyanka and Vivek), and all the staff are all very accommodating and attended to all our needs. The owners and managers take time to talk to their guests and you can feel that it is sincerely done. The guides and naturalists (Rajesh and Joel) were very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our walks with them and learned so many things about the area and the wildlife. I sincerely appreciate that the owners and the staff really value and take care of the environment. The food was really delicious and topnotch, and the choices were varied. The view of the mountains and the trees is breathtaking. Wildlife can freely roam and pass through the property. We saw a bull elephant on our first night there. There were plenty of spotted deer, langurs, monkeys, and different varieties of birds. Wifi is available in the lounge if you need it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Jungle Hut was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. We really loved our stay here and plan to go back again. My friends and I will definitely recommend this place to our friends, colleagues, and family.

Trip to the Mesmerising Jungle Hut

There are a few occasions in life when superlatives roll out of your tongue subconsciously. ‘Mind blowing’, ‘Pristine’ ,‘Mesmerising’ are among the many that would be repeated time and again during a stay at the Jungle Hut. And then you add some of the most amazing bunch of people running this property and there are no surprises that a majority of guests staying here are repeat visitors (some have come back 15-20 times over the past decade). Special mention to the owners Vikram and Anusree as well as Vivek and Priyanka who made us feel completely at home as well as Shruti who helped with all my bookings . Everything including the location /food/ hospitality/the cottage we stayed in scores a 10/10.

We came as visitors and return as friends and glad to be added in their ever expanding list of repeat guests turned friends.

Best jungle stay in India!!

I wouldn't know where to start telling you about how great the place is. I found it randomly on Google maps searching for jungle stays.

Right from the moment I booked to the time I departed there isn't a thing I can put a finger on to say that it needs correction.

The property has an unbeatable location in the midst of the river reserve to give you a truly authentic experience. The hills around, the lake and the beautifully designed cottages say volumes about the detail into which the owners went in identifying the place. The rooms are sanitised and kept meticulously even to the extent of placing the towels equitably on the stands.

The most important and key factor for the memorable experience are the people which run this place like a family. To be specific Vikram, Anushree, Vivek and priyanka handle the property like clockwork and have in depth knowledge both in terms of profession and intricacies of living with nature. Their pleasant disposition and friendly outlook made the stay truly memorable and something I'll always treasure.

In short they've earned a regular guest for life who will keep visiting them on as many occasions as possible.

For every traveller out there reading this review I urge to not to miss this wonderful experience. Kudos to the jungle hut team!!!!

Monsoon Magic

The two best times to head over to Jungle hut are the monsoon months and between November and February. We left Bangalore at around 7am, stopped in Mysore for some hot mylaridosa and reached Jungle Hut at 12:30Pm. The roads leading up to the property are winding and rewarding if you like to drive. Nestled where the mighty Nilgiris meet the scenic segur plains, Jungle Hut is a wild life lover's paradise. We were instructed to exercise utmost caution post sunset as the property is over run with the majestic animals of the Jungle come nightfall. I'm an early morning child, and we actually spotted a wild dog running through the property at around 5AM- How cool is that?! Elephants are regular visitors and the property boasts of three water bodies. The food was definitely another highlight with my favorite being the mutton curry. All in all, jungle hut is the go to place to unwind after a long month at work. Also, the staff was quick to hook me up with a wifi router owing to an unexpected work call. The view of the Nilgiris from your bedroom is something you can never get enough of. Until next time!

An "Eden" In The Jungle!

My first visit to the Jungle Hut was back in 1986, just two years after it was opened. Since then, I have been visiting the Hut virtually every year, twice or sometimes, thrice. And so, I have seen this resort evolve over the decades from a modest one bungalow accommodation to its present state of 14 rooms. The idyllic surroundings and the very welcoming environment marked by wonderful hospitality and accommodation, are factors that has made Jungle Hut my all-time favourite holiday destination. Started by Joe and Hermie Mathias, the Hut is presently run by the second generation - Vikram and Anushri Mathias. Over the years, the standards have not just been maintained, but raised in keeping up with the changing times and trends. The service is very efficient while the menu is varied and changed on a daily basis, catering to different tastes. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. In my book, Jungle Hut is a must-visit - whether for relaxation or recuperation or just spending time with nature. The Hut is very accessible with excellent roads linking it to Ooty, Mysore and Kerala. I have just now returned from a three-day sojourn and am already planning my next trip to Jungle Hut!!

Superlatives all the way

Jungle Hut is an eco-friendly resort in the Mudumalai National Tiger reserve. I am on three-night visit with friends, and we are having THE MOST fantastic time.

Our rooms are uber-clean and luxurious. Views are brilliant. There are no fences and we have seen groups of spotted deer and grey langur monkeys wandering around. There was a sloth bear with her cub on the property last night.

We went on an astonishing bird walk this morning. Rajesh our guide is a total expert. Somehow he could see birds in far-away trees where I saw leaves and then he would set his telescope/spotter at exactly the right angle so we could see them in glorious detail. Beautiful bulbuls, a kingfisher, white-nape woodpecker, two owls and many, many more.

Food is fabulous, buffet meals all the way; a great massage this morning; lovely swimming pool spotlessly maintained. I am hoping to go on another walk tomorrow and I am sure it will be equally good.

My friends have three young children and apart from the pool, there is a games room, table tennis and other child-friendly activities. Clearly a great deal of thought has gone into this place. The managers Priyanka and Vivek live on site, are enthusiastic, charming and very helpful. They sorted us out a driver to take us to the Forestry Safari centre and the Elephant camp 20 minutes away, both amazing as well.

I cannot recommend Jungle Hut highly enough.
